It’s an often talked about subject – and I know that lots of people are unsure of what to do.

I wear Jeans and a Smart Shirt/Blazer most days – but probably still wear a suit at least once a week. I spend a lot of time visiting clients in their offices – and most are dressed casually. But, if you’re looking to meet a client for the first time, then a suit will always be safer – though not necessarily the correct choice.

I think it’s important to put people at ease – whether that’s in choosing something to wear that helps you feel relaxed and confident, or choosing something to wear that helps the person you’re meeting feel relaxed. But, that’s where it becomes difficult – as people view ‘Business Casual’ differently, and it’s easy to get it wrong.

But, if you’re in any doubt, wear something that reflects who you are. There’s nothing worse than pretending to be something you’re not!

I would love to hear what others think.

All the best,

Steve Coburn, project five.Steve Coburnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02724205387664058676noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4669413396291584231.post-42297482274887484662010-08-06T06:27:22.446-07:002010-08-06T06:27:22.446-07:00There was an interview on Radio 4 recently during ...There was an interview on Radio 4 recently during which four prisioners who were serving short sentances were interviewed. The general view was that it was comfortable and they did not have to worry about bills. Their main concern was getting cigarettes. They were given spending money. What is the purpose behind these short sentances? Clearly they are not there long enough to protect the public and their stay did not unduly concern them. Perhaps if they were paying towad the cost of their stay they might retiungk their view.Shaun Parry-Joneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10067912490924269054noreply@blogger.com
